Adrian dela Roca grew in a farm in Sariaya, Quezon where he and his siblings are geared into electronics. He, for once, worked in the National Irrigation Administration (NIA). His father, a member of Palsahingin -Concepcion Dairy Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PALCON) has been raising dairy cattle as their main source of income. Other members of his family are egging him to join the fray, but dairying seemed distant to his other pursuits. Adrian dreamt of going to Japan to earn more. For him, working overseas is the best route to earning dollars and eventually fulfil his dream of contributing and helping in the financial woes of the family.

He pursued his goal but unfortunately, he was not given a visa. Disappointed but not beaten, he decided to divert his attention to the management of their calamansi farm. He thought that he might be destined to be a farmer in his hometown. At this time, the Philippines New Zealand Dairy Project (PNZDP) team has been going around the National Dairy Authority (NDA)-assisted projects in South Luzon and found their farm as a possible venture for the ongoing study being made on the production of Mulatto and Mombasa seeds as potential forage sources to help improve the nutritional condition of dairy animals in the vicinity. Eager as he was, Adrian grabbed the opportunity, took the offer and planted the seeds in the between portions of the calamansi field. After just barely two weeks, the grasses grew up to knee length. These were harvested and fed to their dairy animals. The results were visibly seen in terms of good appetite, nice shine of the fur coat of their cows and increased milk production of their herd.
